Online Education and Online Jobs – Resurrecting Productivity

I don’t know if you’re like me, but I dream of a job that give me flexibility of time and location. I find myself searching through the employment ads of Craigslist.org or our local big classifieds site on KSL.com for legitimate jobs that allow for me to stay employed at home. Most are the “business opportunities” and are scams with companies trying to take advantage of the dreamers like myself. Truth be known, I don’t know if I could handle a work at home job right now in my life. I have a three year old and a one year old at home, and a list of honey do’s that keeps growing from my wife. I find coming to an office is a break at this point in my life, but I know many people may be ready for a work from home career.

That got me thinking and wanting to help others thinking about a work from home career or even thinking about getting their online degree. Those students who are able to develop the discipline to go to school, graduate, and get their online degrees are much further ahead in their modern day work ethics. There are so many distractions at our fingertips now a days that you really have to have a plan of attack to stay focused on tasks and to do what needs to be done. I thought I would try and put together a list of things that have distracted me when working from home and/or studying from home, and actions to overcome the distractions.

Distractions and Actions

* Television
* Music
* Pajamas
* Empty Stomach
* Instant Messenger
* Unnecessary Programs
* Schedule
* People/Family
* Internet
* Computers and Software

Television

If you have a television in your office or study, remove it from your office or study or at the least, TURN IT OFF! If you are a YouTube addict, turn off YouTube. You can even block it using OpenDNS.com or other website blocking services. This can help you to overcome your YouTube addiction.

Music

Have you ever found yourself jumping up out of your office chair and playing air guitar and taking the lead on the microphone, right in the middle of something very important that needs to be done? Well that’s kind of distracting isn’t it? If your music is distracting you, then you should do something about it. Change what you are listening to, turn it down, or turn it off. Music during work and during studying is not meant for entertainment, it should support your mind in processing information.

Pajamas

When working at home it can be easy to just work in your underwear and not completely commit yourself to the day. I alway recommend taking a shower and getting ready just like you were heading into an office or up to school. This will help you mentally feel ready for the day and feel like you have already done so much. You should always be ready for any situation and respect yourself, your family, and/or your roommates with good hygiene. 🙂

Empty Stomach

An empty stomach can have a distracting effect. Make sure to feed yourself. You are less likely to get up and snack if you fill your stomach first. I know I often times find myself getting up and snacking all day long. Get what you need and bring it to your office. Schedule breaks for snacks, but treat them like mandatory 15 minute breaks every 3 hours or so. Don’t make them every 10 minutes.

Instant Messenger

More recently I’ve tried to create a separate Instant Messenger account for work. This has prevented a lot of BS conversation. I know I start a lot of unnecessary conversation over IM. If you get enough friends, the IM conversations never end. Don’t abandon IM altogether, but turn it off when working or studying. Instant Messengers can be a great way to network, but there should be a reason that they’re on. Same can apply to Twitter. This applies to text messaging too. Turn off your phone if it’s too big of a temptation and becomes too big of a problem.

Unnecessary Programs

I’m sure most of you have plenty of different programs from graphic design to Twitter programs. You should eliminate any distractions that are caused by idle programs. If you need a program you can always reopen it, but don’t leave it sitting idle, shut it down. This will also improve your computer performance by not consuming computer resources.

Schedule

Goals require game plans. Your work day or education should have some type of a schedule. Just because your schedule can be flexible doesn’t mean you just do things whenever. You should create a set schedule for working or for studying and doing homework. The flexibility should only be used when it has to be used. Remember that when you take some time out of your schedule you have to put it back in. Flexibility just means that things that are usually done at a specific time can be pushed off to another time. You need to make up any lost time without disturbing the rest of your schedule. This is often times the most important element when it comes to working at home or doing school from home.

People/Family

When working or schooling from home, boundaries need to be set with your family, friends, and/or roommates. They need to respect your time so you can keep your job and/or get your education. It is much easier for them to respect your time if it is scheduled out. When they don’t know the next time you are going to be available, then it’s easy for them to justify disturbing you. That’s why a consistent schedule is so important. An office with a door and a lock never hurt at all either. It’s nice to create a work/study space. Heck maybe even get yourself one of those “OPEN” signs or some sign that helps to illustrate to people that you do not want to be disturbed. You can teach your kids to understand the sign and to leave mommy or daddy alone when the sign is on.

Internet

The internet can be a distraction in a bunch of different ways. First of all the obvious, don’t look at stuff that is unrelated to your goals and tasks for the day. I think the internet is the leading cause of ADD now a days. It’s way too distracting and easy to lose your bearings for the day. Second thing that can be distracting is the speed of the internet. You have committed to work or school from home, invest in a decent internet connection. Find something that is quick and reliable. You should be able to write it off on your taxes so you might as well get the good stuff. Sometimes schools and employers will help pay for the connection.

Computers and Software

OK, the last one is the one you’ve all been waiting for. If your computer sucks and is slow, get one that will help you be more productive. A computer that just works and requires less maintenance. This is a loaded discussion. My two cents is to get yourself a Mac. Sometimes your employer or even your major at school will have required programs you have to use and may require a Windows machine or vice versa. Make sure to ask the right questions to your school or employer before getting a new computer. You may also find that there may be some software that will help you be more productive. Identify the things that you will be doing with the computer and get some programs that will help you be more productive. Again this should be a write off. When purchasing your computer and programs, ask about a student discount, most students get very steep discounts on software and computers.

Conclusion

Working from home or getting your online degree from home can be a difficult thing to do even though it seems much easier. It requires some organization and planning to make sure that your employer and schooling gets the necessary time and respect. You can apply these suggestions as a full time or part time employee. You can apply these suggestions as a full time or part time student earning their online degree or getting their online training. Make sure to organize what works best for you and respect yourself by executing what you have organized. Stay focused and good luck.

How to Save Money on College Education and Get Free Tuition?

If you have read this book by Robert Kiyosaki, “Rich dad, Poor Dad”, you will realize that getting a college education, securing a 9-5 job and then climbing the corporate ladder is not the most effective way to get rich.

However, this doesn’t mean college education is getting cheaper, just because the rat race is no longer in vogue among the younger generation. In fact, it cost a decent amount of money which requires financial planning right from the child’s birth.

Between the costs of tuition, books, room and board and school service fees, the total bill can add up fast. However there are ways to get reduced or even free tuition for your college education.

Aim For Scholarships

This is obvious but you will be surprised that many students don’t apply for scholarships. There are many scholarships available and while good grades are a must, you don’t need to be the valedictorian of your class. Check with your high school counselor or college academic adviser for application criteria.

Get Free Tuition

Some states offer free tuition for bright students from lower income families so that they can attend college. In New Jersey, you may be eligible for free tuition at your community college if you are in the top twenty percent of your high school class. Just do some research online and see what is available.

As of 2008, Stanford University will no longer charge tuition fees to students whose parents earn less than $100,000 a year. In addition, all room and board fees will be waived for students whose families earn less than $60,000 a year. The program also eliminates the need for student loans.

In 2008, MIT also announced plans to offer free tuition for those whose families are earning less than $75,000 a year.

Other ways to get free tuition include:

1. Employee Benefits

Human resource is one of the most important assets in a company, hence, a lot of employers are focused on retraining and upgrading the skills of their workers to become more productive and gain a competitive edge.

If you want to advance your education, there are usually partial to full reimbursement, especially for tuition classes related to your job description.

To qualify, you will usually need to get a passing grade of no less than a “C”. Check with your employer for the terms regarding any tuition reimbursement policy.

For school employees (in colleges and universities), there are usually perks like reduced or free tuition. In some cases this extends to immediate family members. This could be one more incentive for working as a college volunteer helper for the sake of your children.

2. GI Veterans

If you are a veteran of the United States military, you may be eligible for free tuition which includes college courses, job training, certification tests, and much more.

3. Test Out of A Class

This means you take a test out of the class which is usually cheaper (about one-third) than paying for the full class. However, you have to possess in-depth knowledge of the subject and it is up to the college discretion. You have to convince them with your resume and reasons.

Obtaining free tuition is not an impossible task. There are options available, but it is a matter of getting creative, pro-active and persevering. For saving the exorbitant cost of between $25,000 to $80,000, I think it is well the effort though.

Home Business Education and the Most Important Lesson to Build Huge Profits

” I will offer to free your mind. I will open the door for you. But it is your choice to walk through”…John Milton Fogg

The previous blog has have shown how few people ask about home business education when looking for a home business. The shocking ratio based on Google Keywords AdWords Search is out of 3000 home business searches only 1 person also is looking for some education how to start a home business and what to do.

How crazy is that..in the same category as driving a car without a license or building a home without a blueprint or charting a trip without a map or getting married to someone with no previous relationship..all very scary and crazy and highly prone to unfulfilled expectations and failure.

And yet, it would seem, people somehow assume, or are hyped to believe, they can earn a professional 5 or 6 digit income in a home business without applying some initial fundamentals. Do they rely on others to take the roles, hold the reins, and stand under a guru’s charisma long enough to see the “enlightened pathway.”

This may work in some businesses but not in a network marketing home business based on massive duplication of a simple plan that everyone can democratically pass on.

So here’s the most important lesson you need to know in two parts

Part 1. Visualize and draw your Keep it Simple Circle

Start by drawing a circle..about the size of a small orange.. no need to be perfect.
Inside it draw a small stick figure.
Outside it draw a similar sized stick figure.
Inside the circle write the letter S as large as you can to fit into the circle. S stands for SIMPLE.
Outside the circle write as small a letter S as you can beside the stick figure.
Turn the letters S into dollar signs.

Fundamental Lesson learned: The more simple the business plan the more money you will make. If you are outside the Simple Circle, following something more complicated, the less money you will make…

Part 2. List the 3 essential parts of a simple home business plan

Draw another similar circle.
Divide it into 3 parts ..more or less equal..don’t worry about being perfect or analytical.
The GOOD NEWS is there are only 3 parts that EACH represent an important part of your home business.
Print ONE WORD in EACH of the 3 sections

  • Part 1. EDUCATE
  • Part 2. CONTENT
  • Part 3. MAKE A DECISION

So far, this should be totally clear. Now lets add a few details. Write these words outside the circle and connect them to the right section:

  • EDUCATE…facts…training
  • CONTENT…company…website
  • MAKE A DECISION…ROAD MAP TO SUCCESS

You have just created a beautiful mind map with two circles that represent the tremendous potential of this unique home business. You can now build your dreams on something very real, very action orientated and very democratic. Absolutely everybody can do this.Is there anyone who cannot do this home business plan? You need a phone and computer.
Is there anything missing or incomplete? Use the Mini-Program for Maxi-Profits as a comprehensive overview of facts and training.

Is there any other way to simplify this home business plan? Show me.

Is there any other way to build substantial residual profits over and over again?

WHAT ABOUT YOUR COST and TIME?

EDUCATION. $25 for Mini-Program for Maxi-Profits (one hour)

CONTENT. (time factor will vary here)
Replicated company’s website, back office, marketing tools…NO COST…auto shipment of valuable health product..basis for commission starts from $40 monthly

MAKE A DECISION…ONE PAGE read and share summary replicated website..ROAD MAP to SUCCESS…NO COST (30 minutes to read)

If this isn’t the most exciting lesson plan you’ve ever seen for a successful home business…then maybe you’re not ready to be a home-based entrepreneur. Maybe you want to take more time to do more research..and there’s lots of resources are available.

But if you see how this two circles relate and how simple it is to duplicate residual profits you should be jumping for joy. Financial freedom is truly at your fingertips.

WHO should be jumping for joy?

People with no time, and who work full time jobs

People with no background in sales

People who have never started a home-based business

People who don’t have a lot of extra time

People who are money motivated

People who value spending more time with their families

People who need extra retirement income

People who hate their jobs, and want out of the rat race

People who like their job, but who just need a little money

People who like making money the easy way.

If you see yourself on this list, then why not get started today?

Your questions and comments are always important.

Education and the School Voucher Program

Parents whose children are in failing schools could benefit from school voucher programs, which give them some measure of choice over their children’s education. A school voucher program allows parents of students who qualify for the program the option to attend a non-public school instead of their public school, with the state stepping in to pay the cost of tuition. The goal of this program is two-fold. First, it gives parents in struggling school districts who cannot afford tuition in private schools an option to turn to in order to get their kids quality education. Second, it provides competition for those struggling schools, providing further motivation for the school personnel to improve their programming and the results they provide.

Benefits of Voucher Programs

Voucher programs give parents control over their children’s education, no matter what their economic standing is. This is one of the primary benefits, as it allows parents to make choices for their children, rather than being stuck in a cycle of poorly performing schools. It also provides the benefit of giving schools motivation to continue performing well, as parents will be able to remove their children if the school is failing.

Potential Drawbacks of Voucher Programs

While voucher programs seem like a good way to improve the education offered to children in struggling school districts, opponents of the plans raise some concerns. School staff in struggling schools often point out that it is not entirely the school’s fault that they are doing poorly. Poor parent involvement, lack of motivation on the part of the students, and socioeconomic factors all play a role in how well or poorly students do in school, and these are factors that school staff cannot control. No amount of teacher motivation can replace parental involvement. Taking kids out of these schools and putting them into private schools will only improve the situation if those kids have involved parents and different socioeconomic factors.

Similarly, voucher programs automatically starve struggling schools from much-needed funds. Those funds make it even more difficult for them to hire great teachers and continue to do the job they need to do wit the students they still have. In a way, vouchers could condemn struggling schools to complete failure.

Finally, parents often assume that a private school is going to give a better education than a struggling public school, but this is not always the case. Parents may place their children in a participating private school without doing the necessary research to ensure that it is actually a good school. This could hurt the educational outlook for these children even more than leaving them in the school they are currently attending.

Parents who are in areas that have a voucher program should do research to ensure that the school they choose gives their child the best possible education. Then, they should remain involved in the child’s schooling, encouraging the child to perform well, no matter where they go to school. Finally, they should work with teachers to make the most of the school years for their children.

Local Control of Education and Other Nonsense

I’m sure that a person who thinks the Federal Government should control education exists somewhere in the country, but most of us would not agree with that concept. Common sense tells us that there is a danger that a strong central government could use our educational system to brainwash our children. At the other end of the spectrum is the concept that parents should be solely responsible for their children’s education. I call this the copy machine concept since most parents would turn out a duplicate of themselves, education wise. The result of such a system would be absolutely no progress in our society since nothing would change from one generation to the next. For those of you who like to argue, there may be children who have more potential than their parents, but those gains would be more than offset by the natural proclivity of other children to rebel and remain uneducated. This line of reasoning may also be extended to villages, hamlets, towns, cities and states though the larger the group, the less accurate it will be. A reasonable person, after reading and giving some thought to this argument, might conclude that more input than just a parent’s would be a good thing for a child’s education. Are you a reasonable person?

I’ve read a number of articles that state or imply that every child should be educated to go to college. The authors seem to feel that the country would be a far, far better place if that were to happen. I wonder if they’ve given any thought to what our lives would be like if every child did go to college. Neglecting the fact that not every child wants to go to college or is capable of doing so, who would pick up our trash and garbage? Who would fix our leaky faucets or build our houses? What about fixing our cars, our roads, scooping our ice cream, etc., etc. and so forth? My guess is that, if every child went to college, our society would collapse in a fortnight. Furthermore, I have friends whose children did go to college and, upon graduating, were unable to find jobs. Then, we might think about asking the children what they want. It’s unwise to force children to do something they don’t want to do and that works both ways. Recall the story of Robert Louis Stevenson whose teachers thought he wasn’t all that capable and wanted to curtail his education to make him a tradesman. What would our lives be like if we had no “Kidnapped” or “Treasure Island” or his beautiful poem, “Romance”? How much poorer we would all be. You may read about his feelings on the subject in his poignant poem, “I am a hunchback”. If his imagery doesn’t touch you, nothing will.

I live in a county that has about a half million inhabitants and forty school districts. Can you imagine the ratio of administrative to teaching expenses with that much overhead? A school is a relatively simple organization to run and there is little change from year to year. There is little difference between all elementary schools, all junior high schools and all high schools. If education were a business, it would go broke. Of course, education is not a business. It’s a collective duty, a responsibility and a necessity. That doesn’t mean we can’t apply sound business practices to administering it. Have we gone mad? It seems as if we go out of our way to maximize overhead costs and then complain about the teaching expenses. If that huge amount of overhead was pigeons, we’d all look like statues.

It seems that most of us are in agreement that education in the USA “just ain’t what it used to be ” (please excuse the English, it’s part of the punch line of my very favorite joke) or at all close to what it could be. The Federal Government, the states and assorted organizations are beginning to spend money to fix it. Their ideas are not all bad, but they haven’t thought the entire problem through. Their mistake, as I see it, is that no mechanism exists in our educational system to spread any ideas that turn out to be useful. Why not revamp the system first to take advantage of good ideas? Throwing money at the problem, without thought, that could be better used to teach our children, is just a waste. Those who administer education complain they lack funds, but they never run out of money to incarcerate children our educational system fails even though that costs more than a good education. Where I live, teachers are being forced to take days off without pay and the children lose that time. Necessary courses and activities are being cut, but is there really a shortage of funds or are we just wasting what we have? Common sense where art thou?

Well, it’s easy to find fault and criticize, but I also have solutions that may be viewed on the website, below. Educating our children, who are the most precious natural resource this country has, is the most important job we must do because they have to govern when we die. This was the greatest country ever to appear on Starship Earth and I am ashamed that we all don’t pull together to better prepare our children for the future.

Massage in Bucharest

Recognize it! You’re busy! And so must be! That’s what life is like! But you want more than that, you want to do more for yourself and massage can help. Because massage makes more than a simple relaxation of the mind and body. It keeps your body in shape and gives you enough energy to make you enjoy a longer life better than you do it today.

Massage releases stress. At the moment, stress is a universal evil. Every time you are late, every time you avoid a car in traffic, every time you have trouble working, stress is doing his job. Each time adrenaline increases heart rate and cortisone levels and organs respond to the measure. You will be in a state of nerves and constant agitation.
When there is no release of stress, serious problems such as an upset stomach, hypertension, sleep disturbances, chest pain, or existing illness may worsen.

Some of the changes that may occur are: Anxiety, lack of concentration, depression, permanent fatigue, muscle or bone pain, sexual dysfunction, excessive sleep or insomnia

All these stress-related problems can be diminished and some can be totally eliminated by massage. The researchers concluded that a massage session can lower heart rate and blood pressure, relax your muscles and increase endorphin production. The massage also releases serotonin and dopamine and the result is a general relaxation, both physical and mental.
Our body care must be at the top of the priorities.
By adding the massage to your routine you will look much better and you will be much healthier and relaxed. Massage can improve your vitality and mood. Massage can prepare for a long and beautiful life.

Our masseuses personalize each massage session according to the needs of the individual.
Our massage parlors offer a variety of relaxation styles and techniques to help you. Apart from relaxing, massage can be a powerful ally in reducing pain, increasing energy levels, improving mental and physical performance

We recommend : HotAngels , VipZone , JadePalace , ThaiPassion

After a massage session, you will see how the mental prospects are enriched, the body allows easier handling, better pressure resistance, relaxation and mental alertness, calm and creative thinking.
When you have the impression or force yourself to stay straight, your body is not actually aligned properly. Not only does the posture look bad, but it forces some of the muscles to go muddy all day, while others become weaker. After a long time, the incorrect position may cause other drops. For example, internal organs press on what affects digestion, breathing ability is also diminished, which means that much less blood and oxygen reaches the brain and hence all sorts of other complications.

Massage allows you to return your body to the track. Allowing the body to make healthy and accurate movements is one of the greatest benefits of massage. Massage can relax and restore muscles injured by bad posture, allowing the body to position itself in a natural, painless position.
Apart from posture, there is also anxiety. One of the signs of anxiety and stress can also be heavy breathing. When the body begins to breathe too little and deeply instead of breathing at a natural rithm, it is impossible for one to relax. One reason may also be that the chest muscles and the abdomen get tightened and the air gets harder.

Massage plays an important role in learning the body how to relax and how to improve breathing. Respiratory problems such as allergies, sinuses, asthma or bronchitis are a group of conditions that can benefit from massage. In fact, massage can have a positive impact on respiratory function.

Many of the muscles in the front and back of the upper part of the body are breathing accessory. When these muscles are tight and shorten they can block normal breathing and interrupt effective breathing natural rithm. Massage techniques for stretching and relaxing these muscles improves breathing function and breathability. Massage leads to an opening of the chest as well as structural alignment and nerve dilatation that are required for optimal pulmonary function. A good way to treat respiratory problems with massage is the taping made in Swedish massage. When done on the back, along with vibrations, it can detach the mucus from the lungs and can clean the airways for better later function.

Massage not only relaxes muscles, but helps people become aware of daily stress levels. Once the body recognizes what really means relaxation, the mind can rest easily relax before the stress becomes cornice and harmful. This will help you enjoy a balanced life. Massage controls breathing, allows the mind to re-create relaxation before the occurrence of chronic and harmful stress and increases the level of energy.
